The weather this weekend was definitely conducive to model railroading. This was fortunate because the Virtual Display Room at the Railway Modellers’ Meet is already starting to fill up. I’m planning to get 622 assembled for some photos so I can present her next Thursday.
The major engineering and electrical work is hopefully complete, and now we’re into the fun part. Many of the key chassis details came in that package from Shapeways, and adding them is almost as simple as gluing them in place. Indeed, some of them fit remarkably well, considering how much dodgy craftsmanship has gone on around here.
With the details in place, 622 is really starting to get exciting to look at.
pilot, air tank, Stephenson gear, springs, ash pan and brakes are all 3D printed parts. Note the cylinder cock lever and the sanding pipes. Most parts are glued in place, but the pilot is screwed in place with 00-90 bolts in anticipation of that first cornfield meet. 
The bottom of the spring fulcrum sure looks crooked here! I’ll have to consider if it can be safely corrected.
