
Rarely my ideas work out on the first try. If it weren’t for a spare shell, due to cylinders that were too high, this one might not have. The spare shell allowed for practice before committing to the real shell.
Handrail stanchions for #622 took a fair amount of lathe work to bore out and shape. That’s time I don’t want to spend on Percy so I printed the stanchions in place and epoxied the handrail to their tops, forming little globes of epoxy at the top of each stanchion. The trick was to hold the handrail in place with spacers and masking tape while the epoxy was going on. They’re not perfect, but they were quick.
