I’ve never had a ton of luck with Assembly views in OnShape. Until now. As I was idly rotating the design, as I so often do after building a 3D model, I started to wonder if the key will actually turn past the end of the lever, or if it will jam. And anyway, how will the magnet behave?
I could have printed the parts easily to find out, but instead I tried assembling them in OnShape. It only took two mate connectors to demonstrate the mechanism. In doing so, I found the design could benefit from some subtle changes, and that the magnet should release as it slides off the end of the hoop. It was satisfying to find this out before printing.
