GTR 1120 as a 4-2-2

Once The Last Equipment Cradle was put together, soldering the wires that capture the rear wheels was delicate but not difficult. I dropped the engine on the rails, and was immediately disappointed by the results. I expected it to be slippery without the connecting rods, but I didn’t expect the front drivers, the only drivers with power, to spin helplessly in the air.

I left it overnight before doing anything with it, and the next day I decided to fiddle with the wires between the engine and tender. It turns out these were too long, and either lifted the front of the tender or the front drivers off the rails. There was a little room to push some of the wire into the tender, and magically the engine was able to make progress down the track.
