Except for cattle, the pasture is as finished as it is going to get. They’re getting painted with oils, and those will take a week or so to dry completely, so in the interest of tidying up, I’ve put the pasture in place for now. Depending on how herd installation goes, it may be in place forever.
I must say, I’m quite pleased with the outcome, although it really does highlight the need to finish some other scenery.
The typical view of the scene. The closest edge is about two feet from the front of the layout. The forced perspective really pushes the barns away.Standing on the staging yard step, affords this view. Even though it’s across the line of forced perspective, it’s difficult to tell that one end of the fence is bigger than the other
Also, because I promised Mark I’d do it, here are some photos with the main lights off, and the sky wash on.
With the room lights still on, a red glow illuminates the sky. Probably a bad day to hang the washing as we’re looking east. Here the room lights are off and the whole scene is perhaps too red. However, the light shining through the trees is great.Using the purple light wash makes an interesting night scene, even with the room lights on.
The purple works well.
