Coal Dock Book Arrives

Less than a week after I placed the order, Blurb delivered our annual photo books today. The family photo books came out beautifully, as usual. I was most excited, however, by the model book, which I submitted primarily as a test.

It is the 7×7 size in paperback, and now that I have it in hand, I’m very pleased with it too. The size is perfect, and the printing is excellent. I am surprised the spine printing worked so well, considering the book is only 22 pages long. If there is one reservation, it is that the book doesn’t want to stay open.

That is a small issue, however, and it’s easy to imagine a shelf full of books like this now.

  1. Hi René, A great idea to record your successes in a book as a keepsake and reminder. I designed a hardback version about my p87 layout Obbekær, which was produced for me by Vistaprint. All the editing was done on line and the printing was very quick. In the end I ordered half a dozen copies, enough for each of the guys in Denmark and the UK who’d contributed to the project. 1. I’ve been thinking of creating one about the whole layout once it’s completed. However, that seems to be taking time!! So these interim books are going to accumulate until then.

  2. It was nice to see this in person yesterday. I am thinking about stealing er… borrowing this idea for my various projects as a way to have a reference close at hand when I wonder “how did I do that?” on some project I am revisiting.
