I’m taking a little break from Percy as I wait for some slightly larger, more powerful motors that I ordered earlier this week. I cast about for another project to pick up for a week or two and alighted on the coal cars. They’ve been waiting for a resolution to the weight problem, and they also need some attention to the trucks. As I also needed to vacate the train- er… guestroom for an evening due to holiday the season, I took the laptop upstairs, intending to figure out the brakes.
The trouble with the brakes is that none of those levers or rods is in a plane with anything else. It turns into a bit of a challenging drawing, and I wound up redrawing one of the levers at least five times as I refined the model. Well, it’s done now, and in about four hours an example will be finished printing.
