Brakes Re-revisited (again)

I’ve lost track: this may be the fourth time I’ve designed 622’s brakes. But this time, I have real data to go upon, rather than just conjecture. In 2018, we discovered that the Prairie Dog Central’s #3 has the same pattern of brakes, and despite being out of storage and battery, I did manage to get a few photos.

In my previous revisiting of the brakes plan, I had incorrectly guessed that the equalizing bar would be beneath the ashpan, when in fact it was beside it. This lines up slightly better with the shapes that we can observe in the murk beneath 622. So, as I’m getting ready to order more parts from Shapeways, I decided to fix it.

It would have been faster to start over, rather than trying to modify the existing sketches. However, in the end, I got there, and I’m hopeful that this will be the last time I have to draw this particular part!
