Railway Modellers’ Meet Clinic

After several years of trying, the Railway Modellers’ Meet finally accepted one of my clinic proposals. On Thursday, I delivered Reinventing Wheels: A Pembroke Update to a packed Zoom room. The title was a nod to Mark Dance, who once noted that if there is a more difficult way to do something, I will find it.

As I prepared the clinic, I looked for my 2014 clinic that introduced the layout. While the progress over nearly eight years seems so limited, I was surprised to find how many of the items on my to-do list were to-done. So, I set myself a new to-do list:

  • Improved lighting
  • Working water tower
  • Real fuelling
  • Dual controllers
  • More rolling stock
  • More debugging!
  • More scenery!

See you in another eight years!

  1. If the hobby is more about the journey, yours is full of interest. Looking forward to see what you’ll be doing to plumb that water tower . . .

  2. I may not be around to hear your next one in 8 years Rene! Your clinic was well done in a very interesting manner. Hopefully you have many more “Acts” before the final curtain! You’re truly an inspiration to your fellow modelers! See you in two weeks. JIm Little, MMR

  3. I’m sorry I missed your presentation but I’m really looking forward to seeing Pembroke in person. Cheers.
