Very few model railway activities lend themselves to sunny days on the deck. I reckon tree-making might, and so, I’ve started laying out the shapes of the first row of trees in the thicket.
I started tracing the trees in InkScape, but that turned out to be very slow. So I switched to an iPad with Procreate. Using a different colour for each tree helped to untangle them. Each tree was also separated by layer, and then became a layer in the InkScape file. This enabled me to scale them and print them individually. I then printed the whole thicket and stood it up in place to assess the scale.
